Thanks StianWaaler! He did not come out of the water but I think you are correct. He was too busy watching a man fishing close by.

Most of the egrets near me are Great White Egrets with yellowish beaks. This is smaller and has a dark beak so I was not sure either.
This could be a snowy egret but im not sure..
