Description:

Crust-like fruiting body, diameter of a few cm to several dm, is expanding under the bark and bark shedding. Top rough, often with small papillae filled with a pattern of longitudinal cracks and cracks in width, black. stroma cream

Habitat:

On thick branches and trunks of deciduous trees (beech).
