Large coral heads growing on hard bottom.

Habitat:

Near shore tropical waters; coral reef ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted offshore of Leeward Oahu; location shown notional. Month and day notional; year is known. Arc-eye hawkfish (Parachirrhites arcatus) visible on right side of coral head in first picture. Original media 35mm color slides taken with Nikonos V using flash; film subsequently scanned and images saved as digital files.
