Field Notes

Description:

This dorid nudibranch has a pale brown mantle with thickly packed, darker-colored specks on the central area. The edge of its mantle is frilled (wavy), like that of Glossodoris hikuerensis, with a white ring around the whole body. The rhinophores and gills are roughly of the same hue as the specks, but are solidly colored. Some have more pronounced red-colored margins on their mantles, hence the name of this species.

Notes:

I photo'd this nudi at a depth of exactly 109 feet, during a morning dive.
