Description:
White eggs in various sizes. Surface is not smooth but ribbed.
These look like Anolis Sagrei eggs but I am not sure if Saba actually has any.
Habitat:
In the soil in our garden in Windwardside, near the Volcano Mount Scenery on Saba in the Caribbean Sea.
Notes:
Found these eggs while gardening. I had found some in the garden before but never as many together. What is very interesting is that they differ so much in size.
Turns out that mother Anole lays one egg at a time every 14 days or so during the breeding season!
I picked them up gently and put them back in the soil but now in a big tub so I can see what comes out. The rest of the garden was not safe for them at this moment as there was mayor works happening.
They did hatch eventually.
The hatchlings look very much like anolis sagrei.
