Field Notes

Description:

Mostly black bristled caterpillar with brown underside and brown segments. At least 5 were spotted in a tall weed field in Gainesville, FL.

Habitat:

Tall grassy fields in a hardwood forest of Prairie Creek Preserve--Lodge Trail.
