Description:

El estornino pinto es un pájaro de cabeza pequeña, pico cónico, amarillo, cuerpo esbelto con plumaje negro de reflejos verdes y morados y pintas blancas, ala y cola largas y pies rojizos. Mide unos 22 cm desde el pico a la extremidad de la cola y 35 de envergadura. Esta ave tan familiar vive en bandadas y se alimenta en el suelo, metiendo el pico entre la hierba para localizar insectos y lombrices. También picotea los restos de comida y vive sin problemas en las ciudades. Suele anidar en los huecos de los árboles, pero también se apropia de nidos hechos por el hombre para otros pájaros. Tiene la capacidad de imitar los sonidos de su entorno e incluso aprenderlos.

Habitat:

Estaba muerto sobre el césped, Jardines del Río Turia (Valencia).

Yes, very nice, has reflections of color in the feathers. In winter they come to town to sleep, because it is warmer than in the field. As Martha Rubio said that five years ago, there were many in parks and avenues, and was very upset, had to be careful because you may get feces on his head. The solution was effective, the noise of gunpowder for several days at strategic locations and starlings have gone to quieter places.
They are a pest, but a very beautiful one!
