Description:

Hard, dark/black, circular nodules on live trees. Not sap-like consistency, dry to the touch.

Habitat:

Swamp/lowlands magnolia-beech woods

Notes:

Can't tell if this is beech Woodwart or not. There were a few other of the same tree in this area (but not all) that had these nodules.
