Field Notes

Description:

Climber with very hard stem up to 4cm in diameter. Stem dark green with 4 brown hairy stripes running all along. Leaves dark green with prominent brown venation, 20x22cm, double-lobed. Very small white flowers embedded in a small brown inflorescence. Climbing leaves look like horns of a male mountain goat.

Habitat:

Mactan Island, Central Philippines. Covers our parking lot as a perfect natural shade.

Notes:

Very fast grower. Our plant is now 25m long, but I have seen a much longer one.
