I have never really known what makes a cricket common martin. I suppose if there's a lot of them around... but I do seem to remember slightly bigger, blacker and even shinier ones when I was a kid. This one was definitely common as far as manners go... just lying there on my cutting board... at least she had enough decency to leave of her own accord and in adequate time. Thanks.
Isn't this the common cricket? Long ovipositor=female. http://www.gpnc.org/field1.htm I'd be moving if I were her
