Hi Daniele. Thank you. Simply based on comparison of my images with those I found on line using your ID, I don't think there's any doubt that the second duck is a Rosy-billed Pochard. Perhaps it was introduced to "decorate" the Duke Gardens.
Hi Allen! The unidentified duck on your pics looks is a male Rosy-billed Pochard (Netta peposaca). This is a sSouth American species so I'm not sure how it made it to Durham, North Carolina!
