Description:

A bee fly that lives an interesting life cycle, being a hyperparasite. As larvae, they are parasitic on hymneopteran larvae that are themselves parasites. This species, named after the sinous (wavy) edges of the black in its wings, has a wide range, being found throughout North America in dry areas with sparse vegetation.
