Field Notes

Description:

A very large and handsome raptor. Dark chocolate brown with some lighter markings under wings.

Habitat:

Ranges over most of Australia including Tasmania. Also southern parts of New Guinea.

Notes:

This one was watching over a large grey kangaroo carcass.
