Description:
Small, powdery yellow flowers arranged in a tight, flat-topped, umbrella-like cluster. Stems branch in pairs. Deep green leaves are smooth, thick, glossy, and much-divided. 4-8" tall. Blooms in May and June. Perennial.
Habitat:
Common on clay flats, especially below buttes.
Notes:
Oval fruits have oil tubes characteristic of the Parsley Family. This species resembles cultivated parsley, but bitter roots make it unpalatable. Provides valuable spring forage for wildlife.
