Field Notes

Description:

Small herbaceous plant about 50 mms high with small orange flowers about 4 mms across. Flowers have five petals and purple centres.
Leaves are small and ovate.

Habitat:

Open grasslands and open forests.

Notes:

This plant with the beautiful orange flowers has been in flower for most of the year. The flowers open wide during the day and in bright light and close down in the evenings.
I have found this plant almost everywhere where there is little disturbance and human activity.
