ok, so I will not taste ;) I am also in doubt, and how not identified at the time that I took the picture so I can not be sure: S
I wouldn't recommend it! I don't have a decent description that defines the difference unfortunately. It does look very red but then so did some of the Cytinus hypocistus I saw in Andalucia.
Really?! I have to prove it;) I think it is Cytinus hypocistis but can also be Cytinus ruber Do you think?
Love this little parasite! In Spain there are lots of common names like Chupamieles referring to children sucking sweet nectar from them. Do the two Portuguese species have similar names? I tried one in Andalucia & it certainly wasn't delicious!
