Description:

Red dragonfly, maybe 2" long.

Habitat:

Spotted in the riparian zone of a small creek, where Short Sands Beach meets the forest.

Wow, I love to see them swarm. Anyone sure on the species, the wiki link for the Red-veined Darter doesn't indicate they live in the Pacific Northwest of the US...
In San Fransisco,there is not a single dragon fly around in Dec. Quite Amazing,compared to the fact that the pond was swarming with tons and tons of blue Damsels in August.Probably the peak.
