Description:

Pic#2 the woodpecker was digging the hole in the dead tree out back. It heard something to the right. Then Pic#1 - it hopped/jumped/fell to a nearby branch and disappeared for a while. Pic#3 it returned to a nearby tree for a few minutes. Then pic#4 it twisted itself all around this branch.

Thanks. I got lucky and have a fast camera. There are over 100 shots in this series & I did not realize I got this "bomb" motion until after I downloaded the pics.
Lovely set of pics. I get Flamebacks come into the garden here but they are very difficult to capture on camera. Well done!
