Field Notes

Description:

A dragonfly, about 4 or 5 inches in length, resting on what looks like a bunch of mini fruit or berries. It stayed there for about 5 whole minutes.

Habitat:

It was found near the picnic table overlooking the water, close to the water, and farther away from the woods.

Notes:

Taken on a sunny fall day between 9 and 10am.

This looks like it could be the Blue-Eyed Darner, however as for the obvious the Blue-eyed Darner is blue, so the search continues...
The wings look very long on this dragonfly, nice job.

Nice picture. Dragonflies are interesting looking bugs. I wonder why it was so peaceful while you took the photo?
You must have a very good camera! I love the delicate detail on the wings of the dragonfly and the color of the plant. I'm not 100% sure but I think that plant is stag horn sumac. I've had it in lemonade…it tastes really good!
