Thanks ForestDragon, I'll kick this one over to BugGuide and see if they can help more. i wasn't able to get any clues from the link you provided... none were quite enough for me to decide.
This appears to be a katydid nymph. I'm not sure which subfamily at this time, but here is a link: https://bugguide.net/node/view/164/bgpage
