Roundneck Sexton Beetle

Coleoptera (beetles),Polyphaga (water, rove, etc. beetle), Staphylinoidea (rove, carrion, fungus beetle), Silphiade (carrion), Nicrophorus (Sexton). Black with red heart-shaped design. Black feathery antennae with red tip. Length: 20-25 mm (about 1 inch long). A very unique spot for me. Beetle with one or two hitchhiking mites, Ichneumon wasp (Ichneumonidae) and flying or winged ant possibly eating carrion that is on the beetle. Plus a Walnut Sphinx Moth (Amorpha juglandis) photo bombing one of the photos. And a Baltimore Snout (Hypena baltimoralis) also in one of the photos. A very active night at the front porch light.
