No problem! From what I've heard, it seems to be the younger tiger salamanders that are more spotted like this, and as they get older they become more striped. It's very easy to get the two confused, especially when the names typically describe their pattern!
Thank You AshelyT. The field guide I have only had one picture of each, and the tiger in picture had much more yellow than mine. The picture online looked like the yellow was more of stripes than dots. I didn't really look into it too much, so i appreciate the help. Thanks a lot.
Refer to the link in my suggestion for how to tell spotted and tiger salamanders apart. A spotted salamander would have spots in two, irregular rows down the back only, they don't have spots on the sides like your salamander does. Yours is a tiger :)
