Field Notes

Description:

Small herd of several generations of females & juvenile bulls.

Habitat:

Addo, Eastern Cape.

Notes:

We had driven to one of the water holes at Addo in the hope of seeing the elephants but it was deserted when we got there. We heard a rumble & turned to see the herd running full pelt towards us - our driver decided it wasn't a good plan to be between the herd & the water & took off, while we hung out of the back of the moving Landrover attempting to get photos of the action! It is quite a sight though to see several tons of elephant moving towards you at speed!

Hi Karen, Could you add this African Elephant to the Endangered species of the World mission? http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/13996003 Thanks!
Limiting the visitor number is a great way to save wildlife, I though. Thanks for the suggestion!
Ngorongoro is absolutely amazing! Stunningly beautiful & so much wildlife (& so few tourists as they limit the number of visitors). Do go if you get the chance!
Same with me! Yes, Ngorongoro, the most intriguing place is the the Crater. very special places I think.
I loved South Africa but I think Tanzania even more so! I also have a very long list of place I have to see - & since I found Project Noah that list just keeps getting longer!
Yes you are! Looks like I've to list that place for my trip, next year or next ten year. haha ...
It was an amazing experience Achmmad! I feel very lucky to have witnessed these wonderful animals running towards me!
Its just more than amazing, especially 2nd pics!
Thanks Sachin & Doina!
