Field Notes

Description:

Three wing segments from a Common Brown butterfly (female)

Habitat:

Dry sclerophyll eucalyptus forest

Notes:

I came across this scene on the forest floor which says a couple of things about life as it currently is 1. the Common Brown is exactly that at the moment; very common and 2. they are getting eaten a lot particularly by Wattle birds - so 'signs of wildlife' times 2
