Field Notes

Description:

Antpittas are notoriously difficult and shy forest understorey skulkers. Chestnut-crowned Antpitta is one of the most beautiful but also most widespread Andean species. At Rio Blanco Reserve several have become attracted to earthwork feeding stations and are here easier to observe.

Hi Carolina - long legs indeed, but they are not tiny birds, quite big for a passerine.
Wow, those are long legs for a tiny bird!
