Description:

Massive Egg case. Skates lay eggs in a line, attached to something to keep the developing young from floating away. This is the largest cluster of empty egg cases I've ever found. Weighs at least 6lbs. and consists of at least 150 empty egg cases.

Habitat:

East Coast of Virginia.
