Field Notes

Description:

We found this mushroom in the woods on the ground. The day we went out was hot and wet. The soil was very moist. We went out in the morning and so the sun was still rising. There was no shade on the mushroom. The trees are spread out in these woods and there was a lot of pine needles. The width of the mushroom is 3 centimeters but we did not get the height. We found the mushroom at the end of October and the beginning of December. There was no wind or humidity that day. The types of trees nearby were oak, birch and pine. I think this mushroom is Cortinarius Alnetorum.
The kingdom is fungi
The Phylum is Basidiomycota
The Family is Cortinariaceae
The Genus is Cortinarius
