Field Notes
Description:
The cap is whitish/orangish and a little bit of brown on the ends. It doesn’t have a stalk, it is the type of mushroom to grow in the ground or on a tree. The one on the left is tinier than the one on the right, but it still has all the same characteristics. The the mushroom has a really tiny stalk that connects it to a tree, stump or the ground. I think the gills are unattached.
We put the mushroom upside down, but it didn’t make a spore print. It doesn't have a collar. The cap is about the shape of a trapezoid, and the end is a little wavy. The cap is dry not slimy at all. I don't know what it smells like, I haven’t smelt my mushroom.
Habitat:
It was on the ground a little off the side of the path, it was in moist soil. It was growing around leaves in a shady spot under the trees. It was surrounded by dead leaves and other tiny plants.
Notes:
We went outside in November, and found mushrooms, and picked them. We put them in a box and brought them inside to identify.
