Field Notes

Description:

This beautiful bird is like a yellowish house sparrow. I saw many of them in Santa Catarina Brazil but not sure of the species.

Thank you Liam and Malcolm will search once I have a computer.
It's a juvenile, so I expect narrowing it down to species may prove to difficult to those who aren't locals. Try juvenile Saffron Finch.
Here is a list of Birds f Brazil: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_birds_of_Brazil Scroll down to 25 Passeriformes and check these 3 links 25.26 Fringillidae - Euphonias and Siskins 25.27 Estrildidae - Waxbills and Estrildid finches 25.28 Passeridae - House Sparrows If you don't find it you could expand your search to other passerines but I think you will find it amongst those 3.
