Field Notes

Description:

Cap is white and brown. Cap is 3 cm. around. The stalk is 2 cm. long. I could not find a spore print for this mushroom because nothing showed up on the black or white piece of paper that I put the two identical mushrooms on. NOTE: to find the spore print I put to similar mushrooms on two different colored papers ,black and white, and for this mushroom no spores appeared. The reason why my team and I decided to go out and find mushrooms is because, we wanted to identify mushrooms and wanted to learn about mushrooms before it snowed.

Habitat:

The mushroom lived in the woods near what I suppose might be either Maple or Birch.

Notes:

Kingdom: Fungi
Division: Basidiomycota
Class: Agaricomycetes
Order: Russulales
Family: Russulaceae
Genus: Lactarius
Species: Imperceptus
