A Ruffed Grouse. . . do you?

Notes:

Spotted while driving through Rifle River Recreation area. Didn't get the picture I wanted but we caught him just before he moved and ran back into the woods.

Nichole, the thing about NZ, because they had no mammals bigger than mice, the birds filled all the niches. But to see the native birds you have to venture into the lush Gondwanaland remnant forests, where there is too little light for photography. Mostly I was taking photos as reminders of what I'd seen, and not for the photo itself.
Well this photo should definitely be in your group then . . lol! I love the name! ^_^
Looks like he's posing. I have a group of photos I call "blurry bird butts of New Zealand".
Lol! I do. . Bad Camera! . . .hopefully working on a upgrade. . .someday . . lol!
