I think this are true green and not some of the many similar non-natives we have around here. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure Cuban Anoles have an orange dewlap (under their throat) and the Green Anoles have a pink dewlap. Both are sold in pet stores here and i've had both species as pets.

The Green anoles can change color to brown, usually when they are stressed or warming up in the early morning.

Thank you for your comments on some of my "spotting", I appreciate it. The confusion here isn't so much with the brown anole. Rather we have 3 very close looking anole species: the hispaniolan green, the Cuban green, and the "native" green. Then we have 2 brown the Cuban and the Puerto Rican crested (neither, I believe from Mexico). As a matter of fact in the FL Museum of Natural History lizard list we have the 1 native anole and 9 non-native anole species. Now lizards in general, they list 22 native species and 42 non-native!!!

Yes, you are right, it is the true native that is being pushed out by the brown ones from Mexico.
