Description:

Tiny 1 mm fly of the Suborder Nematocera, Family Cecidomyiidae (Gall Midges). It has flat hairy wings which it holds flat over the abdomen when at rest, colored yellow with dark brown markings. The legs are banded. The wing venation is of the subfamily Cecidomyiinae (https://bugguide.net/node/view/1307331/bgimage).

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
