Description:

This lovely flowering native vine is (in my opinion) as showy as or even showier than many of the cultivars and species available via the nursery trade. I grew up calling it by two names, not aware that they were the same plant. While setting the lovely mantle white flowers, I heard it called Virgin's Bower; when encountered later in the season when the wicked-looking furry seeds had set, I heard it called Devil's Darning Needle. It was not until recently that I realized that these two are in fact the same plant.
