Field Notes

Description:

Less than 1 centimeter long, bright green with black stripes along its abdomen. Front of head and scutellum striped in black and yellow, with red eyes.

Habitat:

Forest, decaying wood?

Notes:

The second photo is from July 6, when I found a large group of these hoppers inside a decaying log. Some were alive and some were dead, I'm not sure what exactly was happening there. Maybe something was eating them, or they were pupating all at once? One of four species in this genus north of Mexico. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
