Field Notes

Description:

checking the sidelines for defensive signals

Habitat:

Pacific northwest coastal estuarine lowlands; coniferous forest back of beach

Notes:

spotted in the campground at Fort Stevens State Park; the pose of the middle raccoon in the first image is evocative of a middle linebacker on a football team looking toward the sidelines to see if his coach has any instructions; in the second image may appear the animal that had attracted the raccoon's attention; it is another raccoon, barely visible in the bushes at the upper left; perhaps it is mama

Definitely up to something sneaky!! Cute photos!! :)
Alice: nice metaphor. Athos, Porthos and Aramis. Perhaps that éminence grise in the bushes is D'Artagnan!
The 2nd picture makes me smile. I like it.
