Field Notes

Description:

Fish fry (very juvenile fish) harboring among or near spines of a red-spined sea urchin.

Habitat:

Near shore sub-tropical waters; coral reef ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted offshore of the west coast of Okinawa. Date notional but correct within two weeks. Original medium 35mm slide, taken with Nikonos III using flash and close-up kit; film subsequently scanned and image saved as digital file.
