Field Notes

Description:

Female box turtle

Notes:

This may be a florida box turtle - if anyone can clarify that would be great. It was found at Robinson Preserve and moved to better habitat as Robinson is primarily salt tern and marsh. We suspect it was an unwanted pet that was dumped.

Thanks! I wasn't 100% sure and have seen oranges that look quite similar. We also see orates dumped farrow often then we see native Florida boxes sadly.
