Description:

Yellow tang 5-6 inches long swimming in front of a bollard.

Habitat:

Near shore tropical waters; shipwreck artificial reef ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted on the starboard side of the 01 level abaft the superstructure of the Mahi wreck off the coast of Leeward Oahu. Date shown is notional; actual date some time between 1991 and 1994. Also in the image are a multi-band butterflyfish, Chaetodon multicinctus, an unidentified butterflyfish and a yellow eye tang, Ctenochaetus strigosus. Original medium 35mm slide taken with Nikonos V and flash; film later scanned and image saved as digital file.
