Description:
Colors vary a bit in this species though usually, they are easily identified by a golden-red coloration from head to shoulders. A single white stripe, with two adjacent black stripes, running horizontally down the lateral sides of the body. They lack facial stripes though tend to have a light or white ring around the eyes. The rest of the body can be eight tawny grey or brownish.
Habitat:
This squirrel was found up a mossy tree in a mixed conifer forest. The tree was located near a large stream which meandered onto a nearby grassy meadow.
