I'm not positive but I think it was more of a series of single note caws. Thanks! I wish I'd recorded it!
The bird looks like it is vocalizing. Did you hear it? Can you describe the call? Did it sound like a short honk or quack or was it more of a long caw? The difference between a fish crow and an american crow is small but can best be heard.
