Field Notes

Description:

This little one blended in with the waterside moss very well. Dark olive-green/brownish with vibrant yellow striped markings.

Habitat:

This was taken at the Point Defiance Park near a little pond in the small man made garden near the Pagoda (I'm not sure if this is maybe considered a part of the Japanese Garden, which is on the other side of the Pagoda?)

Notes:

I've been told that it may be laying eggs. I've never seen their tails arch like that and didn't even know that they could bend. (Google just told me that their 'tails' are their abdomens! I'm learning new things already!)

It was very fun to watch.
