Description:

Soft-bodied, black Soldier Beetle about 1 cm long. The pronotum is marked with red, a pale yellow and black. Family Cantharidae. This species is a remarkable copy of our local Firefly : Photinus pyralis:

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
