La planta mide mas de 1m y medio de altura mientras que la hoja, poco menos de un metro.
Crecen en poblaciones abundantes

Habitat:

Clima templado húmedo.

Notes:

A la raíz se le llama "cormo". Es un tubérculo similar a la papa, y tiene los mismos fines alimenticios.
