Brown Anole

A brown anole hiding in the bootjack of a Sabal palmetto. Brown anoles have greatly misplaced the native green anole of Florida, who's habitat has changed to treetops to counter this highly invasive and successful species. Invasive populations were introduced from pet trade individuals who were released into the wild. I'm not sure why someone would keep an anole as a pet, in my experience they're fairly defensive and quick to drop their tails and even quicker to bite. Not that they can do much being as tiny as they are.
