Field Notes

Description:

Mushroom, perhaps Boletus radicans, about 6 centimeters tall. The furry reddish cap was approximately 4 centimeters in diameter. The stem was about 4 cm tall, cream coloured with brown fibers and swollen at the base. I'm not sure but this mushroom might be infected by the bolete eater.

Habitat:

Grew on soil and grass nearby a willow tree (Salix babylonica).

Notes:

Spotted in rural area of Deventer, Holland.
