This crazy creature does a flip to get into it's defensive pose. We saw it on a night walk in Koh Sok national park.

Beautiful capture. The series of photos really enhance this spotting. Thanks for sharing.
A female stick insect possibly not quite adult yet. Common name is Malaysian jungle nymph. Never forms wings but the pro wings are usually a bit larger in adult female so I'm guessing she may molt agan. Males are skinny and brown with full sized wings, a typical stick mimic. They exhibit a large degree of sexual dimorphism. Therefore they are classified as stick insects and not leaf insects, even though she clearly mimics a leaf. They can be aggressive but cannot bite.
