That is why I love to look at nature, I am allways amazed about the things I find. I've never seen a bug like this, and now I am willing to know what it is. When and if I get an ID, I'll tell you.
I wouldn't be so sure that this is a lightning bug in the family Lampyridae. The pronotum doesn't cover the head, which leads me to believe that it could be a soldier beetle in the family Cantharidae. The end of its abdomen looks like it might contain bioluminescent organs, however. It's tough to say which family of beetles this one belongs to.
