then the zoo is very wrong. this is definitely "Lycaon pictus". check the link supplied with the suggestion>

Thanks for the suggestion, Corey, it certainly looks very similar to a dog (facial structure reminds me of a German Sheppard) but the zoo identifies it as Hyena.
