Redhead is correct; this is a drake molting from/to eclipse plumage. First photo has a drake Gadwall in the background.
That seems right, thank you all! (Apple, all the pictures are of the exact same duck, but after looking at some other pictures, I think it is a male).
I agree with the identification and believe your final photo in the series is a male.
